人と会話をするシステム（会話AI）が私の研究トピックです。最近では大規模言語モデル（LLM）の技術がスマートフォンアプリや会話ロボットに応用されています。その中で、私は「人間らしい自然な会話」を指向し、人間のように、しなやかで深い会話を行う会話ロボットの研究を進めています。扱う情報は音声をベースとしていますが、マルチモーダルな情報も扱っています。大規模基盤モデルや連続的な予測モデルなどの最新技術も積極的に取り入れています。また、会話分析、言語学、認知科学などの分野の知見も参考にしています。これら一連の研究を通じて、人間どうしのコミュニケーションの仕組みを理解することが私の研究の目標です。
Research Overview
My research focuses on systems that communicate with people through conversation, namely conversational AI. In recent years, large language model (LLM) technologies have been increasingly applied to smartphone applications and conversational robots. Within this context, I pursue the goal of enabling more natural, human-like interaction, and I work on conversational robots capable of flexible and meaningful dialogue. My work is primarily based on speech information, while also incorporating multimodal information. I actively adopt recent technologies such as large foundation models and continuous predictive models. In addition, I draw insights from conversation analysis, linguistics, and cognitive science. Through this line of research, my ultimate goal is to better understand the mechanisms underlying human communication.
