The tenth biannual IEEE workshop on Automatic Speech Recognition and Understanding (ASRU) will be held December 9-13, 2007. The ASRU workshops have a tradition of bringing together researchers from academia and industry in an intimate and collegial setting to discuss problems of common interest in automatic speech recognition and understanding.

Papers in all areas of human language technology are encouraged to be submitted, with emphasis placed on:

Submissions for the Technical Program

Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length, 4-6 page papers, including figures and references, to the ASRU 2007 website. All papers will be handled and reviewed electronically. The webpage provide you with further details. Demonstration proposals will be handled separately.

Demonstration Proposal

Demonstration session has become another highlight of the ASRU workshop. Prospective presenters are invited to submit a half-page summary of the technical importance of the demonstration to Demonstration Chair, Prof. Kazuya Takeda (
A wide variety of the technologies and applications of Automatic Speech Recognition and Understanding are welcome to the session, however, a simple advertisement of commercial products does not meet the session focus.
A poster board, a desk and minimum power supply will be provided for each demonstration. Wireless internet connection will also be available. If you have special requirements, please contact to the Demonstration Chair.
